Mountain Air: Ambiances & Winds is the largest library I've ever recorded. It features 87 recordings totaling nearly 5 hours of mountain soundscapes, all captured in the Kuči Mountains on the border of Montenegro and Albania at altitudes between 1,400 and 1,700 meters.
Getting to these locations meant hours of rough off-road driving that required a solid 4WD. The isolation was worth it. These spots gave me access to completely untouched mountain environments where I could record everything from dead-calm air to gale-force winds without any human interference.
The library includes:
- Still air and quiet atmospheres
- Wind recordings from gentle breezes to powerful gusts
- Natural soundscapes with crickets, birds, and wildlife across forests, valleys, and meadows
- Very distant traces of mountain village life, like faint dog barks and cow calls from small settlements (called Katun in Serbian/Croatian)
Everything's tagged with UCS-compliant metadata so you can find what you need quickly. The recordings were made between spring and fall since winter makes these trails nearly impossible to navigate, even with proper equipment.
This library is a collection that captures high-altitude wilderness in a way I haven't heard anywhere else.
